History :
The Bearded axe, or Skeggox (which comes from the Old Norse work "Skegg" which means Beard, and "Ox" which means Axe). Their main use was from around the 6th Century and is usually related with the Viking Age. Metal at the time was very expensive so smaller axes were the norm.

Care instructions:
•Carbon steel will rust so please use oil after use. I recommend Mineral Oil as it can be used on the handle and leather sheath too, veg oil can also be used.
• If stored in leather sheath, oil and then wrap in plastic, clingfilm works great. This is to prevent rusting.
